SMTP email reporting '5.7.0 authentication required' error message

Getting 5.7.0 authentication required error when using Gmail as your mail provider

To continue using Gmail, you will need to make some changes to your Gmail account:

  1. You'll need to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
  2. You'll need to create an "App Password."
    1. Log into your Google Account. Select Security.
      • Under Signing into Google, select App Passwords.
      • In the Select app dropdown, click Other, and then enter a custom name.
      • Click Generate.

Once those steps are completed, you’ll need to go into your EPASS SMTP variables, and replace your current Gmail password with the new App Password that you generated. All other SMTP settings remain the same.
