EPASS is an extremely customizable system, and most customers are able to achieve their business requirements using an out-of-the-box solution via configuration. Sometimes, however, you may have a unique problem that will require a custom solution to be created. This could be a special feature, workflow, or integration with another piece of software. To accomplish this, EPASS offers three options.
1 – The EPASS xAPI
The xAPI allows you to leverage your own programming resources to build custom applications that communicate directly with your EPASS database. Since you are building the solution yourself, you have full control and ownership over all aspects of the project.
For more information about the EPASS xAPI, you can access the user guide here.
2 – Billable Custom Development Services
EPASS offers custom development services at a competitive hourly rate. Our Product Team will review your business requirements and propose a solution that will be built into the core EPASS application suite. Please note that custom code created by our team remains the property of EPASS, and may be made available to other customers. This philosophy helps to keep EPASS as full-featured as possible, and gives all users the benefit of new features we create.
If you are interested in a custom solution, please supply as much detail as possible to our Support Team and we will provide you with a quote for your project. Note that new projects will need to be fit into our development schedule, which means that more complex projects may take several months to complete.
3 – Log a Product Suggestion
We are always interested in hearing your feedback about EPASS. If there is a feature you would like to see implemented, let our Support Team know. Suggestions like this are reviewed and ranked based on the benefit they will bring to our user base. There is no guarantee that your suggestion will be implemented.
The annual EPASS User Meetings are a great way to network with other customers and learn how they are handling similar requirements. Companies have been known to “team up” and split the costs of custom development. We strongly suggest attending the next User Meeting to meet and learn from others in your industry.
