EPASS integrates with the Google Maps API for mapping data. They allow a certain number of free API calls every month – if you pass that threshold, then they will begin charging for calls to their API.Google recommends that you set up restrictions so that your API key can only be used from certain IP addresses. This is more secure as if your API key were to be leaked, it would be useless to others outside of your network. This is a good idea and something that your IT team can help with if you wish to implement it.If you do not set up restrictions, EPASS will function as normal. Restrictions are a recommendation only, not a requirement; although any charges from Google will stand if they were incurred from a leaked unrestricted API key.
